It was not simply a ritual to commemorate martyred Leader, but people attended the event in large numbers to renew their pledge to continue the path of the martyr, protect the ideals of the revolution, and stand on the path for which he sacrificed his life

The ceremony was held by Ayatollah Seyed Mojtaba Hosseini Khamenei, the Leader of the Islamic Revolution, with the slogan “We are in covenant with you until the dawn of the resurrection”.

A large number of people as well as high-ranking state and military officials attended the commemoration that started at 5:00 PM at the Imam Khomeinii (RA) Mosalla (prayer hall) with the recitation of the Quran by Younes Shahmoradi.

President Masoud Pezhikian, President, Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, Judiciary Chief Hojat-ol-Islam Gholam Hossein Mohseni Ejei, IRGC Quds Force Commander Brigadier General Esmail Qaani, and First Vice President Mohammad Reza Aref were among those present at the ceremony.

After Quran recitation, elegist Morteza Taheri performed elegy recitations.

The flags of the Islamic Republic of Iran were waving in the crowd, and next to it, the red flag of “Ya Litharat al-Hussain” seen as a sign of revenge for the blood of the martyred Leader.

The pictures of the martyred Leader were also prominent. The presence of his picture above the hands of the people was a reminder of the path that did not end with his martyrdom and continues among the people.  

Continuing the ceremony, another qari, Ahmadi-Vafa, recited verses from the Holy Quran.

Similar ceremonies will be held on Wednesday, after Maghrib and Isha prayers, in Qom, at the shrine of Hazrat Masoumeh (SA), and on Thursday, coinciding with the martyrdom night of Imam Hassan Askari (AS), after Maghrib and Isha prayers, in the holy city of Mashhad.
