According to IQNA’s branch in the holy city of Qom, Hussein Asadi, head of the organizing committee of the competition, said that more than 2500 seminarians have registered for the Olympiad by November 8 and the number is expected to reach over 10000 including those registering in other countries.
He added that the opening ceremony of the Olympiad will be held on November 20 with a message by Ayatollah A’rafi head of the international university.
The ceremony will be addressed by Hojat-ol-Islam Qaraati at Al-Mahdi School of the holy city of Qom.
Asadi said that the written section of the competition will be held online from December 10 until 24.
He further added that Imam Khomeini (RA) Higher Education Complex in the holy city of Qom will host the final stage of the oral section of the Olympiad during the Fajr Ten-Day Festival from February 3 to 5.
Scientific forums and specialized meetings have been planned for Quran memorizers on the sidelines of the Olympiad, he noted.
Director General of Quran and Hadith Section of the university also stated that top Quran reciters and memorizers of seminaries from all over the country will participate in this edition of the Olympiad.
200 scientific and Quranic figures will supervise the Olympiad which will be held in written, oral and works sections in 5 languages including 12 categories.
Like previous years, a top Quranic figure will be honored at the closing ceremony of the Olympiad.
