Titled Shamim-e (scent of) Muharram, the competition started with the beginning of the month of Muharram in the lunar Hijri calendar, said Mohammad Sadeq Mohseni-Kabir, head of the center’s public relations office.
He told IQNA that the contest aims to promote the Ashura culture and includes questions on the Ashura uprising.
He added that participants in the contest are given 10 multiple-choice questions and can text the answers.
Those interested to take part can receive the questions from branches of the Dar-ol-Quran Center of Khaneye Kargar all over the country, Mohseni-Kabir added.
He noted that winners will be awarded pilgrimage packages to the holy city of Mashhad.
The competition will conclude on Monday, December 23, concurrent with the day of Arbaeen (anniversary of the 40th day after martyrdom of Imam Hussein (AS)).
