Casablanca to Host Morocco’s Int’l Quran Contest

The city of Casablanca will be the host city of Morocco’s 9th International Holy Quran Competition.

Titled Malik Muhammad VI International Quran Award, it is annually organized by Morocco’s Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs, al-Maghribia website reports.

The international event features several categories including memorization, Tarteel recitation and interpretation of the Holy Quran.

Quran reciters and memorizers from different Muslim countries will take part in the contest, slated for December 31, 2013 and January 1, 2014.

The opening ceremony will start at 10:30 at the Quranic Scho9ol of Hassan Thani Mosque in Casablanca and continue until noon.
