Forums to Discuss Islam in Danish Media

A series of forums are planned in Morocco featuring “Islam in Danish Media”.

The series will be attended by Abdul Wahid Pedersen, founder and director of the Center for Islam-Christianity Dialogue, atlasinfo website reported.

The forums begin on Tuesday, December 17, and continue until Thursday, December 19.

They are held by the Morocco-Denmark Friendship Association in cooperation with Morocco’s Scholars Council.

Pedersen will speak about the approaches of Danish media and press toward Islam and Muslims and the Scandinavian country’s media policies about Islamophobia.

Pedersen converted to Islam in 1982 and was the first prayers leader for Muslims in the Danish capital of Copenhagen.

He heads several Islamic institutions in Denmark and has established religious schools for Muslim children in the country.
