The main element in Islamic style of life is moderation, a religion scholar said.

In an interview with IQNA, Hojat-ol-Islam Seyyed Mehdi Hosseinzadeh, managing director of Allameh Askari Scientific-cultural Institute referred to the verse 143 of Surah Al-Baqara “And thus we have made you a just (moderate) community…”, stressing that the Holy Quran and the teachings of Ahl-ul-Bayt (AS) invite people to moderation.

He said moderation is an important religious issue emphasized by the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution in recent years.

“We should assess different aspects of moderation in various cultural, economic, political, … areas and move accordingly,” he said.

Hojat-ol-Islam Hosseinzadeh reiterated that moderation is the most important element in religious style of life and that the Quran and Ahl-ul-Bayt (AS) have urged people to practice moderation.

He said a society can only be considered an Islamic society if it is a moderate one.

The scholar noted that in order to learn in details how to live a moderate life one should refer to the teachings and Hadiths of the Holy Infallibles (AS).

He underlined that God favors moderation and is against radicalism and extremism.

Hojat-ol-Islam Hosseinzadeh further said that moderation is required in all aspects of life including in one’s thinking, speaking, and actions.
