Islamic Unity Conference Planned in Uganda

The Iranian cultural center in Uganda plans to organize a conference on Islamic unity in the African country.

 

 According to IQNA’s Africa branch, Akbar Tohidlu, Iran’s cultural attaché in Uganda, made the announcement in a meeting with Shiekh Sha’ban Ramadhan Mubaj, head of Uganda’s Supreme Council of Muslims.

He said the conference is scheduled to be held concurrent with the unity week (birth anniversary of the Holy prophet (PBUH) of Islam).

Tohidlu said Muslims are a united Ummah and that unity among them will help to spread Islam.

He said the Holy Quran and Hadiths by the Infallible (AS) teach Muslims that problems can be solved through unity and accord.

The Islamic Republic of Iran’s Ambassador to Uganda Amir Hossein Nikbin also spoke at the meeting, stressing that Iran attaches importance to unity among Muslim countries.

Shiekh Sha’ban Ramadhan Mubaj for his part thanked the Islamic Republic of Iran for its international stances and noted that Imam Khamenei always emphasizes the need for Muslim unity.

He also lauded Imam Khamenei’s anti-Israeli stances and said these stances have brought the hearts of the faithful closer together.
