Bahrain’s Tamarrod (rebellion) movement has stressed that the only way for changing the status quo in the country is continuation of the revolution.

Issuing a statement, the movement added that remaining peaceful and non-violent is its strategic policy, Al-Nashra website reported.

It said that civilian and non-violent resistance is the popular weapon of Bahraini revolutionaries.

The statement also criticized the forlorn attempts of the tyrannical regime of Al Khalifa to ignore the right of the people to choose their destiny.

In other news, Sheikh Ali Salman, secretary general of the Al-Wefaq Society in a Twitter post stressed that Bahraini opposition will not agree to any solution for the country’s crisis that would involve breaching the rights of the country’s Sunnis.

He said Al-Wefaq will strive to safeguard the rights of not only Shias but also Sunnis and even Christian and Jewish minorities and other non-Muslims.

Unlike other Persian Gulf states, Bahrain has a Shia majority. But its rulers, the Al Khalifa royal family, are Sunni.

Bahrain has been the scene of anti-regime protests since February 2011, and scores of people have been killed and hundreds more injured in the regime crackdown.
