Muslim Students’ Quran Contest, A Successful Int’l Quranic Event

The international Quran competition for Muslim students is a successful Quranic event at the international level.

Iranian Quran expert Mahmoud L otfinia made the remark in an interview with IQNA, adding that the competition are held at a high level and matches other international Quran competitions.
He said the 4 editions of the event have been held successfully in the past years, stressing that there might have been some shortcomings which should be avoided in future editions.
Lotfinia, who has served as a jury member of several international Quran competitions, added that by hosting the Muslim students’ Quran contest, the Islamic Republic of Iran has become a model for other countries.
He stated that Iran, as a pivot of the Islamic Awakening in the world, still needs to do more to hold the upcoming editions even better.
Elsewhere in his remarks, the Quran expert said the students’ international Quran contest has a constructive role in spreading unity and solidarity among Muslims.
He said the competition is also a venue for the participating students to learn about the Islamic Establishment and the Islamic-Iranian culture.
It also helps them learn more about the needs of the contemporary era and better know the cultural commonalities of Muslims, he went on to say.
He said with proper planning for the contestants, good steps can be taken for spreading Islamic unity based on the guidelines set by the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Khamenei and the late founder of the Islamic Republic of Iran Imam Khomeini (RA).
The international Quran competition for Muslim students is held biennially with the participation of Muslim students from different countries.
The fourth edition of the contest was held in the northwestern Iranian city of Tabriz on September 11-15, 2012.
Abolqassemi noted that the competition has been successful in encouraging the students and youth from different countries to take part in Quranic activities.
Elsewhere in his remarks, the prominent Quran reciter said the number of Quran competitions in Iran should increase given the large number of Quran reciters and memorizers trained in the country.
