Senegalese Muslims Hold Quran Day

The Islamic Association of Louga in Senegal will hold a Quran Day today.

The program will be organized in the capital city of Dakar with the participation of Quranic sciences experts, Leral website reports.
It will feature a forum discussing Quranic schools and their role in education and also the Islamic tradition of Waqf (endowment).
Also on Quran Day, winners of a Quran recitation competition held by the association will be honored.
Senegal is a Muslim-majority country in West Africa. Followers of Islam make up over 90 percent of the country's population.
