Sheikh Muhammad Tablawi called on Sheikh of Al-Azhar Islamic Center Ahemd Al-Tayyeb and Egypt's Awqaf and Islamic Affairs Minister Muhammad Mukhtar Guma to prevent Egyptian Qaris and the scholars of Al-Azhar from going to Iran and Iraq.
Furthermore, the presiding council of the association revoked the membership of four Qaris because of their trip to Iran and Iraq and their recitation of Adhan (call to prayers) the Shia style.
Sheikh Ahmed Ahmed Noaina, Sheikh Taha Muhammad Al-Numani, Sheikh Muhammad Abdul Wahhab Tantawi and Sheikh Yasser Abdul Basit Abdul Samad were the four banned reciters.
