Begmohammadi, executive secretary of the competition, said 450 students from universities across the country are taking part in the three-day contest, IRIBNews reported.
He said the participants compete in 38 categories at four levels for BA, MA and PhD students.
According to Begmohammadi, as well as recitation and memorization of the Quran, the competition's categories include Quranic arts, research and literary works.
1117 students took part in the preliminary round of the competition held in different universities and 450 students made it to the final round, he went on to say.
