Karachay-Cherkessia Holds Quran-reading contest

The Drama Theater of Cherkessk, Russia, held the “Best reader of the Holy Quran” contest on November 11

The Quran-reading contest was organized by the Muslim Administration of Karachay-Cherkessia and supported by Rashid Temrezov, the leader of the republic.

43 people took part in the contest. They were split into 5 groups: readers aged below 15, readers aged 16-45, readers aged over 45, readers studying at the madrasah boarding school of the republic and the Abu-Hanifa Karachay-Cherkessia Islamic Institute, professional readers.

Winners got rewards and Ali-Sultan Gozgeshev got the Karachay-Cherkessian head’s award. He was given a free ticket to Saudi Arabia for hajj.

The Karachay–Cherkess Republic is a federal subject of Russia.
