Over 2000 Mosques in Yazd Province

-- There are more than 2500 mosques in the central province of Yazd actively involved in cultural activities, according to secretary of the supervising board of art and cultural centers in the province.

Hojjat-ol-Islam Ahmad Ajmin said that from among 2573 mosques in Yazd, 150 have art and cultural centers, in which cultural activities are regularly organized.
"Based on a memorandum of understanding we have signed with the General Office of Ministry of Islamic Culture and Guidance, art and cultural centers will be set up for all the mosques in the province by 2021," he stated.
Noting that 50 centers have been launched since the beginning of this year, he regarded activities carried out by the mosques in the province as very successful.
He also expressed hope that 200 more art and cultural centers will be set up by the end of this year.
