Kufa to Host Conference on "Holy Quran and Present-day Challenges"

The third international scientific conference on “Holy Quran and Present-day Challenges” will be held at Educational Sciences College in the city of Kufa, Iraq.
Ahmed Abdul Jabbar, an Iraqi media activist, told IQNA that the motto of this edition of the conference would be a Hadith by Imam Ali (AS).
He said researchers and scholars from various countries of the world would attend the two-day event on December 11-12.
According to Razzaq Abdel Amir Al-Tayyar, administration deputy of the Educational Sciences College, the conference aims to widen the horizon of Quranic research, strengthen precise scientific foundations for Quranic research, and introducing ways for benefiting from the Quran in the face of the modern day challenges.
“Contemporary readings of the text of the Quran”, “Quran and Society, pluralism, and peaceful coexistence”, “Quranic injunctions, rights of minorities and punishments”, and “Quran and woman, Hijab, equality between men and women” are some of the themes of the upcoming conference.
