Abdul Latif Belal, head of “Halal Life” Association in Spain made the remarks at a meeting, held on April 2, with Iranian cultural attaché in Spain, Amir Purpezeshk.
Speaking at the meeting, the Spanish official said that the association was opened in 2008 aiming to defend the rights of Halal products consumers in public centers such as hospitals and schools.
He said that the association attaches significance to the proper way of consumption and tries to correct the distorted image of Islam in Western countries regarding issues such as: environment, health, nature, and life.
The center also plans to hold conferences and publish magazines and the booklets regarding the country’s Halal food at restaurants and markets in various regions, he added.
For his part, Amir Purpezeshk also said that: "As a perfect and comprehensive religion, Islam presents precise guidelines regarding various aspects of human life including social and natural fields."
He also added that promotion of the culture of Islamic consumption, as well as the quality of Halal products plays an important role in changing the negative image towards Islam and Muslims in the West.
