Holding Quran memorization competitions contributes significantly to strengthening the memory of the Quran memorizers and minimizing forgetting of the verses of the Book of Allah, a Quran expert says.
Hossein Mohammad Al-Ebrahim, head of Qatif’s Taratil-el-Fajr Quran Institute, told IQNA in an interview that more Quran contests on memorization ought to be arranged in order to help memorizers to recall the memorized verses.
Referring to the activities of the center concerning Quran memorization, Mohammad Al-Ebrahim said that kids aged 7 to 9 start the process with memorizing three Joz (parts) of the holy Quran while teenagers memorize 8-13 Joz of the Book.
He added that the Taratil-el-Fajr Quran Institute holds various courses for different age groups on memorization and recitation of the Holy Quran all through the year except for summer, adding that the programs have been well received by the residents.
Al-Ebrahim went on to say that the center has set out a new timetable as to memorization’s training programs in a bid to motivate the participants and remove their frustration.
Pointing to the center’s programs on recitation, he reiterated that: “Asem and Sheikh Shahat Mohammad Anwar are the famous Qaris whose recitations are made use of in recitation courses”.
He stressed that intent listening and regular practice are the two elements which play a pivotal role in rapid memorization of the Holy Quran and improving the memory.
He further called on all Quranic centers to implement effective programs on memorization, recitation, and Tajweed for young adults and kids so that they can get familiar with the teachings of the Divine Book from early stage of their life.
