Secretary of the third edition of the Students’ National Quranic Studies Festival said the number of participants in this edition is 15 percent higher than the previous edition.
Speaking at the closing ceremony of the festival, Hojat-ol-Islam Seyyed Mehdi Taqavi added that the number has been growing since its first edition.
“The first edition featured the book ‘Asrar-us-Salat’ (secrets of prayer) by grand Ayatollah Javadi Amoli and the theme of the second one was ‘Manshur Aghaed Imamiya’(charter of Shia beliefs). 80,000 and 100,000 copies of the first and second books were published and distributed among the participating students.”
He said the theme of the third edition was ‘fake mysticism cults’ and the book chosen for the festival was ‘Dar Kuchehaye Aftab’ (in the alleys of the sun), which is a selection of the issues discussed in the book ‘In Search of Islamic Mysticism’ by Ayatollah Mesbah Yazdi.
Head of the Iranian Students Quranic Activities Organization stressed that the organization has made efforts to foster Islamic teachings using the knowledge and thoughts of great scholars and sources of emulation.
The third edition of the Students’ National Quranic Studies Festival included an examination section held on March 5.
