UN Representative Visits Imam Ali (AS) Shrine
Representative of the Secretary-General of the United Nations in Iraq, Martin Kobler, visited Imam Ali (AS) shrine before heading on foot to meet with grand source of emulation, Ayatollah Ali Sistani.
The visit was private and took place in direct coordination with the Office of the Marjaa.
Kobler started his visit to Najaf by going to Imam Ali (AS) shrine and then went to Ayatollah Sistani’s house on foot.
Martin Kobler said in a press conference held after the meeting that, "The meeting was held with the aim of solving Iraq's current problems through dialogue, moderation, harmony, and peace."
