Speaking to IQNA, Hojat-ol-Islam Sayyid Sadreddin Qabanchi underlined that religious sources of the school of Ahl-ul-Bayt (AS), following the path of the Infallible Imams (AS) have always called for unity and proximity among Islamic schools of thought.
He described Islamic unity and solidarity as paramount under the current circumstances in the world, adding that organization of international Islamic unity conferences, like the one annually held in Iran, is necessary for spreading the call for unity and proximity among Muslim schools of thought.
“Currently, we are in a stage where there are calls for disunity and discord coming from everywhere.”
Hojat-ol-Islam Qabanchi said proximity and unity should develop not only in religious and monotheistic fields, but in social arenas as well.
Turning to the diplomacy of unity and its realization by the Islamic Republic of Iran, the Iraqi scholar underscored that the Islamic Republic of Iran, since its foundation has been pursuing unity and proximity among Muslims.
He said the calls for unity have borne fruits today after years and “we are reaping the benefits of calls for unity made in the past years”.
The Friday prayer leader of Najaf noted that the Muslim Ummah is still on its way to full realization of unity and said the ultimate target, which is comprehensive unity in the Islamic world, has not been achieved yet.
He went on to say that the school of Ahl-ul-Bayt (AS) and its followers have always underlined the need of Muslim unity and that Imam Khomeini (RA) and Imam Khamenei have been the flag-bearers of islamic unity in the world.
