Need for More Attention to Quranic Research in Seminaries

Grand Ayatollah Nasser Makarem Shirazi urged that Islamic seminaries should pay more attention to Quranic research.
Speaking at a meeting on Sunday with members of the Seminary’s Book of the Year Award, the grand source of emulation added that more importance should be attached to Quranic studies in the Hozeh (seminary).
He further hailed holding the Seminary’s Book of the Year Award and said the event would encourage seminarians to write valuable books.
Grand Ayatollah Makarem Shirazi described books as links between the past and today, saying that the advancement of sciences and development of civilizations is related to books.
He also noted in writing books, seminarians should set out priorities and work on themes that are the needs of the day.
