Mosque desecrated in Orne State of France
A mosque in the Tier region in France’s Orne State was attacked by an unidentified group on Thursday.
Anti-Islamic elements attacked the mosque in early hours of the day, lamontagne website reported.
They damaged the mosque’s doors and broke windows, the report said. The attackers attempted to set the place of worship on fire and destroy it but failed in their attempt.
The mosque’s worshippers, all French citizens of Turkish origin, have lodged complaints over the incident.
This was one in a series of attacks on Islamic places of worship in the past few months. Islamophobia has been intensified in France recently and desecration of Islamic sites has angered the country’s Muslims.
