Speaking to IQNA, Hojat-ol-Islam Saeed Bahmani added that, therefore, printing the Persian transition of the Quran without the original Arabic is not appropriate.
Director if the Quranic Sciences Department of the Center for Quranic Culture and Teachings said it is up to the Maraj’i (sources of emulation) to decide whether it is alright according to the Islamic tenets to publish translation of the Quran without the original Arabic.
He referred to verse 2 of Surah Yusuf “We have sent it down as an Arabic Quran, in order that ye may learn wisdom,” saying that the text of the Quran is clear Arabic and that if the Persian translation was to have priority, God would have revealed the Quran in Persian.
Hojat-ol-Islam Bahmani went on to say that the Ministry of Culture and the seminaries should make policies in order to prevent publication of Quran translations without the original Arabic.
