In order to benefit from the potentials of the diplomacy of unity and foiling divisive psychological and propaganda campaigns, formation of an Islamic media bloc is necessary.
Iranian cultural representative in New York Mohsen Eslami made the remark in an interview with the International Quran News Agency (IQNA), adding that the Islamic media bloc should strive to safeguard Islamic identity, principles and aspirations while interacting with other blocs.
He noted that this is achieved not through news and reports per se, but through creating discourse.
Referring to the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution’s emphasis on the diplomacy of unity, Eslami said Imam Khamenei’s attention to the diplomacy of unity is rooted in the aspirations of the Islamic Revolution.
He underlined that moving on the path of unity and getting inspired by the teachings of the Quran, Sunnah and Etrat (AS) were among the main factors that led to the Islamic Revolution’s success.
Eslami said a comprehensive study of the Islamic Republic of Iran’s interactions with the Muslim world reveals that the Islamic Revolution of Iran has relied on unity and common factors like the shared Qibla (direction of Makkah), the Holy Book and the Holy Prophet (PBUH).
Giving priority to the cultural, social, and political issues of the Islamic world and drawing Muslims’ attention to the issue of unity have always been among the Islamic Revolution’s approaches, he stated.
The cultural expert said that is why 34 years after the victory of the Islamic Revolution, the Muslim world looks up to Iran as a source of inspiration and a role model and consider the unifying standpoints of the Islamic Republic to be the missing link in the Muslim world.
He said the Muslim Ummah has strived for years to implement the strategy of unity but it is necessary now that Islamic states also put the diplomacy of unity high on their agenda.
