Tehran Municipality’s Social and Cultural Affairs deputy said 110 mosques will be constructed in the capital’s main parks.
Seyyed Mohammad Hadi Ayazi said the decision for building the mosques has been taken based on the approval of the city’s municipal council that calls for devoting 1 percent of city spaces to cultural and religious activities.
The decision was made by the commission for development of mosques, Mr. Ayazi noted.
He added that in 150 other parks in Tehran, the available prayer halls will be turned into mosques.
