Bahrain’s Council of Shia Scholars in a statement voiced protest against the anti-Shia remarks made by a Saudi Mufti in Friday prayers.
The council underlined that Shi’ism is a true school of thought within Islam and that Shi’ites are an inseparable part of the Muslim Ummah, Buratha news agency reported.
It underscored the need for maintaining Islamic unity, holding fast to the rope of God, and standing united against the Zionists and world arrogance as the real enemies of Islam.
The council warned against discord and disunity in the Muslim Ummah, saying it would only result in weakness and defeat, which is what the enemies of Islam are seeking.
Saudi Mufti Abdul-Aziz Bin Abdullah Al-Sheikh in his last week’s Friday prayer sermons had claimed that Shi’sim is a false school of thought that targets Muslims’ beliefs and urged Muslims to confront it.
