The Quran Research Committee of the competition has announced that the deadline, previously set for May 21, has been extended to May 26.
Good reception from Quran activists scholars, researchers and academics has been cited as the reason for this decision.
So far 450 papers have been submitted to the committee by Iranian scholars as well as researchers and thinkers from other countries including Iraq, Pakistan, Afghanistan and Malaysia.
They wil be presented at the Quranic Research Seminar planned on the sidelines of the competition. The five top papers will be awarded at the closing ceremony of the contest.
The Islamic Republic of Iran’s 30th International Quran Competition is scheduled to take place on June 1 to 7, 2013, in Tehran.
