84 research papers will be discussed at the international event organized by Qatar-based World Association of Contemplating the Quran, Al-Arab daily reported.
As many as 192 scholars, researchers and preachers from 32 Arab and Muslim countries will take part in the conference.
According to Sheikh Abdullah Al-Ni’ma, director of the association, 590 applications had been submitted for attending the event, 84 of which were admitted.
He said the conference will be held for three days at Sheraton Hotel in Doha under the supervision of Qatar’s Minister of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs Ghaith bin Mubarak bin Imran Al-Kuwari.
Al-Ni’ma added that there will be special dialogue sessions for women on the sidelines of the international event.
Among the topics to be discussed at the Doha conference are the effects of contemplating the Quran in raising awareness about Muslim world’s contemporary issues, and ways to enhance contemplating the Quran for promoting peace and security in societies.
