Quran’s Civilizational Discourse, a Timeless System

Chancellor of Al-Mustafa International University described the Quran’s civilizational discourse as a timeless system.
Ayatollah A’rafi made the remark in an international forum held Thursday, August 1, at the 21st International Holy Quran Exhibition, adding that Islam’s discourse is a civilizational one that guides humanity.
Culture Minister Seyed Mohammad Hosseini, head of the Majlis’ Quran and Etrat Fraction Laleh Eftekhari, Culture Ministry’s Quran and Etrat Deputy Hojat-ol-Islam Hamid Mohammadi and a number of cultural and scientific figures from several Muslim world countries attended the forum.
Ayatollah Ararfi said not all Divine messages and religions have been civilization–making. “Some of Divine faiths and messages have a civilization-making identity. Islam, relying on the Heavenly message of the Quran has a civilization-making potential and discourse and once demonstrated this potential.”
He stated that Islam possesses a comprehensive and extensive civilizational discourse founded in the teachings of in the Quran, clarified in the Hadiths of the Infallible (AS), and materialized in the Seerah of the Holy Prophet (PBUH).
Chancellor of Al-Mustafa International University elaborated on 20 features of the Quran’s civilization-making discourse, which has the potential to become operational in any era, just as the Islamic Revolution of Iran formed based on this discourse.
He said the Quran’s civilization-making discourse, among other things, is comprehensive and all-inclusive, systemic and cohesive, profound, in accordance with humanity’s Fitrat (nature), easy and flexible, and timeless.
He said this discourse goes beyond languages, places, cultures and races, adding that it links the ordinary life of human beings with their worships, bonds the interests of the individual with that of the society, links this world with the Hereafter, and views Muslims and the human society with the same approach.
Ayatollah Arafi said Islam goes beyond borders and while it can produce different civilizations, it can also form a universal civilization for all ages.
He stated that the human society is in need of the discourse of monotheism and pure Islamic civilization today.
According to the seminary and university scholar, the naming of the last day of Ramadan as the International Quds Day is a manifestation of civilizational discourse.
He went on to say that the discourse of the Islamic Revolution originated from the Quran and that the Muslim world can realize a new Islamic civilization, given its talents and natural and human capacities.
