Speaking at a gathering of thousands of Lebanese people and political and cultural officials on Friday, August 2, the International Quds Day, Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah added that the Zionist regime is a threat to the entire region’s countries and nations, Al-Minar website reported.
He underlined that Palestine is more than ever in need of the International Quds Day and that “we will never abandon resistance against the Zionists”.
Nasrallah noted that Imam Khomeini (RA) in 1979, a few months after the victory of the Islamic Revolution, declared the last day of the holy month of Ramadan as the International Quds Day and after the demise of Imam Khomeini (RA), Imam Khamenei has underlined observing the day.
He said the Quds Day rallies are held to remind Muslims and the world of the issue of Palestine and mobilizing forces to save Quds and Palestine from the grip of the occupying Zionists.
Hezbollah secretary general stressed that Palestine he is talking about is the land between the sea and the river that should be returned to its owners in its entirety and no one, be it a sheikh, an emir, a king, a president or a government, has the right to give up a grain of Palestine’s soil or a drop of its water or oil.
He reiterated the late founder of the Islamic Republic of Iran Imam Khomeini’s (RA) description of the Zionist regime as a cancerous tumor and said it should be removed.
Nasrallah criticized the passive and submissive stance of some Arab regimes vis-à-vis the issue of occupation of Palestine and said Arab countries spent billions of dollars in (Iraq’s) war against Iran and if they had spent one-fifth of that amount for Palestine, it had been liberated.
He reiterated that Israel is a threat not only for Palestinians but for all nations and countries in the region.
Nasrallah pointed to the plots for fomenting discord between Shias and Sunnis via the media in order to make Muslims forget the issue of Palestine.
“We Shias are followers of Imam Ali Ibn Abi Talib (AS) in the world and will never give up Palestine and its sanctities,” he stressed, adding that Hezbollah is an Islamic, Shia group that will never abandon Palestine and the sanctities of the Ummah.
Elsewhere in his remarks, Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah commemorated Imam Musa Sadr and urged the Libyan officials to fulfill their responsibilities about determining Sadr’s fate.
