It has called for demonstrations on Wednesday aimed at demanding realization of democracy, the right to self-determination and election of representatives from among the people, themselves.
Ali Al-Faez, a Bahraini political activist currently residing in London, told IQNA that the Tamarrod Day rallies are supported by all Bahraini opposition groups both in the country and elsewhere.
He said that Bahrain’s political activists in and out of the country have signed the statement of the Tamarrod movement and that it will formally start moving forward on Wednesday.
Asked about the Al-e Khalifa regime’s offer to negotiate with the opposition, he said the regime is not serious on this and has no clear political plan to offer. “On the other hand, the regime does not want to give the oppressed nation of Bahrain their inalienable rights. Thus, dialogue would be useless.”
Al-Faez said the regime is not a popular government but implements the policies of some foreign governments.
“Protests against the regime’s policies would continue and the Tamarrod Day rallies are part of these protests aiming to raise awareness about the crimes of Al-e Khalifa regime.”
He said the rallies and protests are held to remind the world and international bodies of their legal, human, ethical and international obligations towards the oppressed nation of Bahrain.
“The people of Bahrain will once again announce in Tamarrod Day rallies that they have a right to choose their destiny and form a system of government based on the will of people.”
Al-Faez noted that all political parties, groups and factions of Bahrain, including the February 14 Movement, will participate in the Tamarrod Day rallies. “These rallies follow a single objective and will bring all Bahraini under one banner to push for the fulfillment of their demands.”
He pointed to attempts by the Al-e Khalifa regime to portray the protests as sectarian and said the protests are not sectarian or ethnic in nature, because it is the rights of all Bahrainis, both Shia and Sunni, are being violated by the regime.
He further urged international organizations to boycott the Al-e Khalifa regime for its continued crimes and the killing of Bahraini people and urged them to send the Bahrain’s case to the UN Security Council.
Al-Faez went on to say that the Bahraini nation is steadfast in their resolve to seek their rights and will not allow the world arrogance to highjack their revolution.
