According to IQNA’s branch in Khorasan Razavi Province, children at elementary school level have participated in the festival from August 23.
They compete in memorization of 16 last Surahs and reading of the first Juz (part) of the Holy Quran, correct pronunciation and performance of prayers and Razavi Seerah and teachings.
Thamen-ol-Aemeh Camp in the holy city is hosting the competition which is being supervised by male and female experts in various categories.
A book entitled “Mehr-e Razavi” (Imam Reza’s (AS) love) by Mohammadreza Hadavi is the source of the contest on Razavi Seerah and teachings.
Some workshops including pottery, painting, handicrafts, theater, etc. have been organized on the sidelines of the festival.
The national competition has been held since 2001 every year for the holy shrine of Imam Reza’s (AS) servants and their families.
This is the 12th edition of the festival underway in the holy city of Mashhad for 6 age groups of participants.
