Quranic Knowledge: Hifz-o-Qirat Competition Held
An inter schools competition on Hifz-o-Qirat [memorisation and recitation] of the Holy Quran was held at the Defence Authority College for Women Phase VIII on Monday.
The vice-chancellor of DHA Suffa University, Rear Admiral (retd) Prof. Dr Sarfaraz Hussain, was the chief guest at the Inter Schools Hifz-o-Qirat Competition 2013. Addressing the ceremony, Dr Hussain emphasised on the importance of learning and recitation of the Holy Quran and understanding its meanings.
He said that the Quran was a source of guidance for the humankind, hence its recitation brings a spiritual and intellectual transformation in a person. The best way to follow Quran was to practice its teachings in one’s daily life, he said..
At the end, the chief guest distributed prizes among the position holders of the competition.
