TEHRAN (IQNA) - The Secretary General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), Iyad Ameen Madani, has condemned the gruesome killing of hundreds of worshipers who gathered to pray on Friday, 28th November 2014.

It was the result of multiple gun-shots and twin bomb blasts detonated by people suspected to be members of the extremist insurgents at the Central Mosque Kano, Northern Nigeria.

Reinstating the support of the OIC to the government of Nigeria in its effort to combat terrorism, the Secretary General called on the Nigerian government to step up its effort in halting the incessant killing of innocent citizens and destruction of properties in the country.

The Secretary General extended his condolences to the families of the victims of the violence and to the people and the Government of Nigeria.
He reiterated the principled position of the OIC that vigorously denounces all acts of terrorism and violent extremism in all their forms and manifestations while it categorically rejects any justifications for terrorism.
