TEHRAN (IQNA) – Lebanon’s Grand Mufti Sheikh Abdel-Latif Derian condemned the recent killing of Egyptian Coptic Christians by ISIL Takfiri terrorist group in Libya.

In a telephone conversation with Theodoros II, Pope of Alexandria and leader of the Coptic Orthodox Church of Alexandria, Sheikh Derian denounced the brutal execution of 21 Egyptian Copts by ISIL militants, saying that it was aimed at provoking clashes between Muslims and Christians.
He underlined the need for Muslim-Christian unity in Arab countries, especially under the current sensitive conditions.
The ISIL Takfiri terrorists on Sunday released a five-minute gruesome video showing the killing of 21 Egyptian Coptic Christians.
In the footage, the handcuffed hostages could be seen dressed in orange jumpsuits, similar to previous ISIL victims, kneeling down along the seaside near the Libyan capital Tripoli.
The victims, whose photos were published in the latest online edition of the ISIL magazine Dabiq, were reportedly abducted in the Libyan coastal city of Sirte in two attacks in December last year and January.
