Int’l Quran Competition Planned for Physically-Challenged

TEHRAN (IQNA) – An international Quran competition is planned to be held among individuals with disabilities.


Head of Iran’s State Welfare Organization Homayoun Hashemi made the announcement in a press conference on Sunday, adding that the contest will be held in Iran in the coming months.

He said the State Welfare Organization will hold the competition in cooperation with a number of other related organizations.

Hashemi further noted that Quranic activities are common among those with physical disabilities and that a large number of the visually-impaired in the country are memorizers of the Quran.

He went on to say that 16 different Quran competitions are held by the organization for those benefitting from its services.
