ISESCO in a communiqué dismissed the bombings as a terrorist act inconsistent with the Islamic moralities which safeguard human life, oppose mischief and corruption, stand for peace and security, abhor injustice and terror, and teach decency and good manners.
Further, the communiqué called on the international community to back the Pakistani government in its efforts to counter terrorist groups in the region and preserve peace and security.
ISESCO also calls upon Member States, international organizations and Islamic charities to provide support to children of Syria and Iraq.
The Islamic Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (ISESCO) expressed its concern about the statement released by the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) which said that some 14 million children across the Middle East are suffering from the escalating conflict in Syria and Iraq.
In the same vein, ISESCO invited the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) and governmental and non-governmental organizations concerned with education in the Arab Islamic world to join their efforts for a common action program providing education opportunities for these children and preventing them from falling prey to terrorist groups in the region.
