TEHRAN (IQNA) – Iranian Quran memorizer Hajar Mehralian left Tehran for the Jordanian capital on Sunday to attend the Arab country’s 10th International Quran Competition.

Mehralian will compete in the category of memorization of the entire Quran, Asghar Khosravi, an official with Iran’s Awqaf and Charity Affairs Organization told IQNA.
She came first in the 36th edition of Iran’s national Quran contest and has won a first title in the country’s Students’ Quran and Etrat Competition as well.
Jordan’s International Holy Quran Competition is held every year for both men and women. The women’s contest is organized in the lunar month of Rajab (which falls on April 20- May 19 this year) while the men’s contest takes place in the holy month of Ramadan (June-July).
Mohammad Reza Ahamdi, a memorizer of the entire Quran, will represent the Islamic Republic in the men’s section of Jordan’s international Quranic event.
Last year, Mojtaba Fardfani and Elham Hosseinzadeh competed for Iran in the men’s and women’s sections, respectively. None of them was among the top winners in their respective category.
