Nat'l Quran Reading Competition Held in the Philippines

TEHRAN (IQNA) - The National Commission of Muslim Filipinos (NCMF) held the 41st National Quran Reading Competition at the UP Alumni Association Building, Magsaysay Avenue, University of the Philippines Campus in Diliman, Quezon City.

NCMF Secretary Yasmin Busran-Lao said the theme of this year’s competition was Trabaho Ko, Ibadah Ko [My Job, My Religious Obligations] that is aimed at reminding and encouraging both NCMF officials and staff and every Filipino Muslim that every act done with the best intention, no matter how insignificant, can be an act of worship to Almighty Allah, Manila Times reports.
She said the ultimate goal of the annual competition is to select the best Quran readers in the country in both the male and female categories. The winners will represent the Philippines in the international Quran reading competition.
