Egyptian Qaris to Attend Quran Recitation Sessions in Iran

TEHRAN (IQNA) – 12 Qaris from Egypt will participate in Quran recitation sessions planned to be held in Iran during the holy month of Ramadan.


Head of the Quranic Affairs Center of the Awqaf and Charity Affairs Organization said they will attend 500 Quran recitation sessions in different cities across the country.



Hojat-ol-Islam Seyed Mostafa Hosseini added that Master Ahmed Shahat, Adel al-Baz, Faruq Ahmed Zayf, Mahmoud Abdul Basit, Reza Guma Mnasour, and Mahmoud Shahat Anwar are among the Egyptian reciters invited to Iran, IRIB news reported.



He went on to say that prominent Iranian Qaris will also take part in the Quranic sessions.



Every year, various Quranic programs are organized all over Iran during the holy month of Ramadan, the month of Quran.



Ramadan is the ninth month in the Islamic Hijri calendar. This year, it began on Thursday, June 18.



During Ramadan, Muslims all over the world fast (abstain from foods and drinks) from sunrise to sunset.



They also devote a considerable amount of time during this month to reading and contemplating the Quran.
