Annual Quran Contest Held in Basra, Iraq

TEHRAN (IQNA) – The 8th edition of Alef-Laam-Meem Quran Competition was held in Basra, Southern Iraq.


65 individuals attended the contest which featured two categories, recitation and memorization of the Quran (at different levels), Qaaf news agency reported.



 



They represented 14 Quranic institutes of the Basra governorate, including al-Hub Wa-al-Hinan, Imam Reza (AS), al-Safa al-Ruhi, and al-Kawthar institutes.



 



The competition was organized by the Basra-based al-Nour al-Mubin Quranic institute.



 



A number of regional Quran experts, among them Qassem al-Maliki, Heydar Abdul Sattar, ali Awad, and Ali Abdul Hadi, made up the competition’s board of judges.



 



It was held on the occasion of the holy month of Ramadan to promote Quranic activities in the province.
