Quran Competition Held in Russia’s Perm

TEHRAN (IQNA) – A competition on memorization and recitation of the Holy Quran was held in the city of Perm, central Russia.

According to hqmi.org website, it was organized by Russia’s Council of Mufti in cooperation with the World Association of Quran Memorization.


50 participants competed in the three categories of the event, namely memorization of the entire Quran, memorization of two Juzes (parts) of the Quran and recitation.


It was held for male Quran reciters and memorizers only.


A number of senior religious officials, including deputy Mufti of Russia, Mufti of Perm, and director of Uthman Quran Center were present at the closing ceremony of the contest.


It was aimed at promoting memorization and recitation of the Quran and fostering the teachings of the Holy Book.
