TEHRAN (IQNA) – The prayers leader of the main Islamic center in Zagreb, capital of Croatia, extended condolences over the death of prominent Iranian Qari, Mohsen Hajihassani Kargar in a recent tragic event near Makkah, Saudi Arabia.

In a meeting with Iranian cultural attaché in Zagreb, Hafiz Aziz Alayli expressed his sorrow on the event and expressed the hope that measures will be taken to prevent such tragedies from happening again.
He also described Hajihassani Kargar as one of Iran’s good Quran reciters and sympathized with the Iranian Quranic community.
Hajihassani Kargar, and Amin Bavi, both members of the Iranian Quranic delegation to Hajj, were among at least 228 Iranians who lost their lives in a crush in Mina, near Makkah, on Thursday.
It is estimated that over 2000 Hajj pilgrims from different countries died in the incident.
With the death toll rising, many pilgrims are still unaccounted for in the incident that marked the worst Hajj disaster in 25 years.
