Final Stage of Quran Competition Begins in Kuwait

TEHRAN (IQNA) – The secretariat of Kuwait’s Ministry of Endowments announced that the final stage of the 19th edition of “Al-Hafiz” national Quran memorization and Tajweed competition in this country has been held since November 20.


According to Alanba newspaper, the competition has been organized under the supervision of Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad, Ruler of Kuwait, by the Waqf Fund of The Quran and Quranic Sciences affiliated the ministry’s secretariat.





It has been planned for different age groups of Kuwaiti people including, teenagers, the youth, Qaris, disabled ones, and those with rehabilitation needs.





Musaid Al-Rakhis, an organizer of this edition of the competition said that the opening ceremony of the Quranic event was held with the presence of Ya’qub Al-Sani’, Kuwait’s Minister of Judiciary and Islamic Affairs at the Grand mosque of Kuwait.





2501 male and female Quran activists attended the preliminary stage of the competition, from among whom 1122 ones qualified to compete in the final stage, he said.





The national competition will continue for two weeks and conclude on December 2.
