Contest Held for Selecting Iran’s Representatives at Visually-Impaired Int’l Quran Competition

TEHRAN (IQNA) – 16 visually-impaired Quran reciters took part in a competition in Tehran on Wednesday to qualify for the upcoming international Quran competition for visually-impaired.

A group of prominent Quran masters, including Ali Akbar Hanifi, Rahim Khaki, Saeed Rahmani, Amir Aghayi and Habib Mahkam form the jury board of the qualifying contest.

Top participants will be selected to represent the Islamic Republic in the international Quranic event.

The first international Quran competition for the visually-impaired will be hosted by Iran later this year.

It will be organized on the sidelines of the Islamic Republic of Iran’s 33rd International Holy Quran Competition.

More than 30 countries are expected to send their representatives to the competition for the visually-impaired.

The first edition will only feature the category of Quran memorization but more categories could be included in the future editions.
