According to albawabhnews website, the competition has been jointly organized by Al-Azhar Islamic Center and Egypt Radio with the aim of identifying top Quran reciters.
The preliminary stage was attended by more than 1000 Quran activists from different provinces of the country and 500 representatives from Arab and Islamic countries residing in Egypt.
Those who had better voices were selected to compete in the semi-final and the final stage.
Ahmad Ahmad Nu’aina’, Sheikh Abdul Fattah Tarouti and Sheikh Mahmoud Al-Khosht are among the members of the judging board in the final stage.
Taking the first step to becoming a Qari of the radio, the winners of the competition will recite the verses of Quran before the Egypt Radio’s Committee of Qaris.
Top Quran reciters attending the contest will be awarded in a ceremony to be held in the holy month of Ramadan.
