Russian Youths Get Jail Terms for Desecrating Quran

TEHRAN (IQNA) – 12 young Russian who burned a copy of the Quran back in 2013 have been sentenced to serve time in prison.

According to al-Misrawi website, a court in Moscow handed the 12 individuals jail terms of between five to ten years.

    

Lawyers of the defendants have appealed the verdict.

The 12 young men had all confessed to have burned a copy of the Quran in the Moscow subway on December 31, 2013.

A passenger filmed the act of desecration and posted it on social media.
