Damascus Hosting Quran in View of Art Festival
The Iranian Cultural Center in the city organized the event in Sulaimaniyeh religious center, SANA reported.
Addressing the inauguration of the festival, speakers, including Syria’s deputy Awqaf minister and Iran’s cultural attache in the Arab country, highlighted the importance attached to writing and calligraphy of the Quran.
It features calligraphy works as well as photos depicting the history of inscribing the Quran.
The works belong to museums in Iran and Syria, including the National Museum of Damascus and the Imam Reza (AS) Museum in Iran.
Also on display are rare copies of the Holy Quran, translations of the Holy Book and Quranic artworks.
An educational workshop on "Calligraphy and the Quran” and a seminar featuring the history of inscribing the Quran will be held on the sidelines of the 4-day festival.
