TEHRAN (IQNA) – The results of an online Quran recitation competition named Quds International Qaris were announced.

According to Quds.net website, the Huna al-Quds satellite network held the internet-based competition, which started on August 21.

Some 380 individuals took part in the contest by sending their recorded recitation of the Quran to the panel of judges.

They were from different countries like Lebanon, Morocco, the US, Canada, Pakistan, Kenya, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Bahrain, Afghanistan, Yemen, Bangladesh, Somalia, Palestine and Syria.

10 of the top participants made it to the final round and five were announced by the panel of judges as the winners on Tuesday night.

Bilal Qazi from Egypt was the champion and Muhammad Mujahid from Bahrain, Yusuf Muati from Egypt, Omar al-Zahouri from Syria and Arif al-Ashi from Palestine came second to fifth, respectively.

The top five winners will receive cash prizes of $3000 to $1000, according to the organizers.
