TEHRAN (IQNA) – A specialized Quranic course for women held in the holy city of Najaf, Iraq, concluded earlier this week.

Fahimeh Sadat Mousawi from Iran was the instructor of the course, which featured Sawt and Lahn in recitation of the Quran, Qaaf news agency reported.

The Quranic Affairs Department of the Astan (custodianship) of Imam Ali (AS) holy shrine organized the educational program.

More than 30 women, including those from the department as well as students of the al-Kawthar Quranic Center, affiliated to the Astan, took the course.

According to Anwar al-Hasnawi, head of the women’s affairs section of the department, the Quranic course lasted for ten days.

She said it was aimed at enhancing the Quranic skills of the participants and developing the Quranic capacities of the Astan.

Hasnawi added that a Quran recitation session was held at the end of the course in which the participants and the instructor were honored.

Born in 1977, Mousawi started learning the Quran at the age of five.

She is the managing director of Bisharat Vahy Quranic Institute in Iran’s northeastern holy city of Mashhad and heads the Quran Department of Arman Razavi University.

She has also served as a member of panel of judges in over 50 national Quran competitions in Iran.
